Who's ready for another Quiz For A Cause with Geeks Who Drink at O'neill's Pub Nob Hill?

Quiz For a Cause is Geeks Who Drink's standing offer to use the quiz as a tool for fundraising and community outreach. In addition to raising funds, we have the opportunity to distribute literature and educate people about our mission, both at the event itself and through Geeks Who Drink's website, email list and social media network.

A quick explanation on how a pub quiz actually raises funds. It's simple: each quiz participant pays an entry fee of $5. One $5 fee per team goes into a cash purse for the winners; the rest goes to the cause. There can be up to 6 people per team and registration is at the event. You can still come and play for free, however, your team will not be eligible to win the cash prize.

Some hypothetical math: say there's 20 teams of six players, each paying $5 a head; that's $600. Of that, $100 goes to the winning team and the rest to the cause. It's not USA for Africa, but many of the venues can hold considerably more than 20 teams so we can add more, and... it's a lot of fun. We promise that no Kenny Loggins solos are required!

April 24 @ 9 p.m. 'til it's over! Your $5 entry fee donation will help pay for food, litter, medical care and other necessities for the 110 plus kitties in our foster care program.
